Reading Reviews

Finding Reviews

Each property listing shows:

  • Overall rating (1-5 stars)
  • Number of reviews
  • Individual guest reviews

Review Categories

Reviews may include ratings for:

  • Cleanliness
  • Accuracy (listing matched reality)
  • Communication
  • Location
  • Check-in experience
  • Value

Writing a Review

After your stay, you’ll be invited to leave a review:

  1. Check your email for the review request (sent after checkout)
  2. Or go to My Trips > Select completed booking > Write Review
  3. Rate your experience (1-5 stars)
  4. Write your review text
  5. Submit

Review Guidelines

Do include:

  • Honest assessment of your experience
  • Specific details that help future guests
  • Constructive feedback
  • Highlights and any issues

Don’t include:

  • Personal information about the host
  • Offensive language
  • False claims
  • Reviews for stays that didn’t happen

Review Timeline

  • You have 14 days after checkout to submit a review
  • Reviews are published after both guest and host submit, or after 14 days
  • Reviews cannot be edited after submission

Host Reviews

Hosts can also review guests. This helps:

  • Build your reputation as a guest
  • Unlock instant book on some properties
  • Show hosts you’re trustworthy

Improving Your Guest Rating

  • Communicate clearly with hosts
  • Follow house rules
  • Leave the property clean
  • Check out on time
  • Be respectful of neighbors

Responding to Reviews

If a host leaves feedback on your stay:

  • You cannot respond publicly as a guest
  • Contact the host directly for any clarification
  • Focus on improving for future stays

Review Disputes

If you believe a review violates guidelines:

  1. Go to My Trips > Select booking > Report Review
  2. Select the violation type
  3. Provide details
  4. Submit for review

MyGoodRental will investigate and remove reviews that violate our policies.

Impact of Reviews

Reviews affect:

  • Search ranking: Higher-rated properties appear first
  • Booking confidence: Guests prefer well-reviewed properties
  • Host trust: Hosts prefer guests with positive reviews
